About us
The proprietor and practice principal of County Physio is Maureen Blake BSc MCSP, Adv Cert NMA (Moving and Handling), PG Cert (Back Care Management), Registered Member of the Health Professions Council.
She is a registered member of the National Back Exchange (NBE), an accredited member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE), member of the Neuromuscular Approach Association (NMAA), member of the Association of Orthopaedic Chartered
Physiotherapists (AOCP), past Chairperson of the Lothian Manual Handling Network Group and a member of the Scottish Manual Handling Forum. Maureen is also a member of PhysioFirst, the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice.
Maureen and her team of highly professional and experienced physiotherapists aim to provide a comprehensive, skilled range of physiotherapy services, Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy, Acupuncture and Occupational Health Physiotherapy and are highly skilled and qualified to help individuals and businesses to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a healthy workforce.
We will work in partnership with our clients to restore full health and to prevent the onset or return of problems which can affect all aspects of life at home, leisure or work.
Maureen can provide aid in the work-place for realistic ergonomic advice and recommendations to reduce and/or prevent a range of work related problems and offer complete training and assessment packages tailor made to suit individual circumstances.

Our team of physiotherapists covers a far-reaching spectrum of specialist areas and clients can be directed to the most appropriate member of the team if requiring dedicated expert help for their problem.

Peter Dawson MCSP, brings experience from the NHS and private sector and from his time working as a physiotherapist in the USA. He also specialises in lower limb biomechanics and assessment in addition to acupuncture skills and is a member of AACP.

Rachael Valentine BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, Post Graduate Diploma (Physiotherapy)
Rachael brings experience from both the NHS and private sector with a special interest in muscle stabilising systems. She is a qualified Pilates matwork instructor and can offer one to one core stability sessions with clients. She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and also the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine (ACPSM).

Joan Graham MCSP has had many years of experience as a musculo-skeletal physiotherapist within the NHS and is able to offer advice and treatment for a range of women’s health problems and in the management of chronic pain conditions. She is also very knowledgeable on golfing injuries, as a keen golfer herself.
